Strawberry Banana Smoothie with Naked Nutrition
Strawberry season is here so I have partnered with Naked Nutrition to bring you a yummy Strawberry Banana Smoothie recipe! This smoothie is summer in a sip! It is creamy without any dairy making it a yummy vegan smoothie. I love drinking smoothies in the summer for breakfast, snacks and even lunch because they are delicious, nutrient-dense and refreshing in the summer heat.
I get so excited when the farmer’s markets open and are bursting with fresh fruits and veggies. You can usually find me buying a flat of strawberries (I know, that is a lot!) so I can enjoy them while they are at their sweetest. If you have ever compared grocery store strawberries to those you find at the farmer’s market you know what I’m talking about! When fruit is in-season it tastes better and has more nutrients. You can learn more about the benefits of eating seasonally during my How to Eat Seasonally Lunch & Learn.

Why Pea Protein
Pea protein is an excellent plant-based alternative to whey protein because it is easily digested and absorbed by the body. Naked Pea is mechanically extracted from yellow split peas without the use of chemicals. This results in a superior amino acid profile, which is beneficial for muscle growth and post-workout recovery. Pea protein is an excellent alternative for those looking to gain muscle on a plant-based diet. Great for people like me who can’t tolerate dairy or whey.
The Vanilla Naked Pea that I use in this Strawberry Banana Smoothie recipe has only three ingredients: vanilla, coconut sugar, and pea protein. I’m so happy that Vanilla Naked Pea is free of additives and artificial sweeteners. They are committed to shortening the steps between the farms and the consumer. The peas used are all grown in Canada or US. Their protein powders are independently third-party tested for heavy metals.
The flavour of the Vanilla Naked Pea is great! I love how it has a clean vanilla flavour and the texture is smooth. It is really easy to incorporate into the smoothie without changing the texture.
More about Naked Nutrition
In 2014 former cross country and track All-American Stephen Zieminski noticed many supplements included numerous ingredients of little nutritional value. That same year Zieminski founded Naked Nutrition. Naked Nutrition strips away all of the marketing and gimmicks that many companies use today. They sell products with only the purest ingredients and most products contain only 3 ingredients. No artificial flavours, colours or sweeteners and no mixing agents. You control the flavour and your nutrition by what you choose to add to Naked proteins and supplements.

- Strawberry Arugula Salad with Strawberry Balsamic Vinaigrette is the perfect way to celebrate strawberries with a savoury dish. We so often use them in desserts, it is fun to mix it up! The strawberries complement the peppery arugula and toasted pecans so well and the basil adds a fresh twist. This summer salad is filling enough to be a meal because it is high in healthy fats from the vinaigrette and protein from the pecans and quinoa. I’m currently dairy-free, but you can totally add feta cheese for a salty tangy bonus.
- Gluten-Free Strawberry Rhubarb Muffins (pictured above) are a great breakfast because they are really easy to make and leave the house smelling fantastic! I also made these Strawberry Rhubarb Muffins gluten free, packed with fiber and full of protein by using almond flour and protein powder in the batter.
- Like most of us, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches will always hold a special place in my childhood memories (and tummy!) so I decided to create a Healthy PB&J Smoothie! Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are the perfect combination of salty and sweet, such an easy and satisfying lunch, and are such a hit with kids.
- Strawberry Banana Chia Pudding (pictured below) is a delicious and nourishing breakfast. It is so yummy it is like you are having dessert for breakfast! Chia pudding has a fun texture, similar to tapioca pudding, and the strawberries and bananas give it juicy bursts of sweetness.
