Health Benefits of Raspberries

This summer I was totally addicted to raspberries! They were one of my big pregnancy cravings and I was spending around $10 a week on them at the farmer’s market. I didn’t feel bad about eating so many raspberries because they are packed with health benefits.

  • Raspberries contain folate which is the B vitamin that protects your baby from neural tube defects. It also helps with the formation of red blood cells, aids in the growth and reproduction of cells, and supports your baby’s nervous system development.
  • They contain a phytonutrient known as raspberry ketone that increases the metabolism in fat cells.
  • Raspberries are a great source of vitamin C which is needed to make collagen. Collagen helps your skin stay young, healthy, and it can prevent stretch marks.
  • They have anti-cancer properties as well due to the high antioxidant content found in raspberries.

  • 1.5 cups nut milk of choice
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup kale
  • 2 Tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1 Tbsp hemp seeds
  • 4 ice cubes *if raspberries are fresh
