Vegan Salted Caramel Chews

Vegan Salted Caramel Chews are a gooey sweet treat made with only 5 ingredients. Dates and maple syrup give them a caramel flavour and tahini adds a calcium protein boost. Vegan Salted Caramel Chews are also nut-free, gluten-free, and sugar-free, say what!?!?!

Vegan Salted Caramel Chews by @jesselwellness #vegan #caramel

Vegan Salted Caramel Chews Recipe

(vegan, nut free, gluten free)

Prep time: 5 minutes | Chill time: 2 hours

Ingredients

  • 10 Medjool dates, pitted
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Sprinkle of coarse sea salt

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. You may need to soak the dates in water for an hour if you don’t have a high-powered blender.
  2. Spoon the mixture into a bread pan lined with wax paper, smooth out the top of the vegan salted caramel chews and top with coarse sea salt.
  3. Place in the freezer to set for 2 hours.
  4. Once the vegan salted caramel chews have set, remove from the freezer and cut into bite-sized pieces to serve.

Ingredients

    How long can these be out of the freezer?

      Great question Megan. I find they last an hour before getting super sticky! However that is in the winter when the air is dry, it might be less in the humid summer.
