Detox Green Hummus

Detox Green Hummus is a zesty and refreshing dip that tastes delicious with veggies and crackers. It is packed with parsley that gives it a delicious fresh flavour and detoxifying properties. It is a perfect St. Patrick’s Day dip because it is green and helps detox all of that green beer! Parsley has liver and kidney cleansing properties. It is also an excellent source of energy-producing iron and bone-building calcium.

Detox Green Hummus also contains immune-boosting lemon and garlic. It is made with almond butter instead of tahini for a fun twist. I like it so much I eat it with a spoon, I’m not even kidding!

Detox Green Hummus

(vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free)

Prep time: 15 minutes | Serving size: 3 cups

Ingredients:

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 cups chickpeas (19oz drained and rinsed)
  • 1 lemon, juiced (1/4 cup)
  • 1 ½ cup parsley, packed
  • ¼ cup almond butter
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • ½ Tbsp cumin
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Directions:

  1. Place the garlic in a food processor and process until chopped.
  2. Add the chickpeas, lemon juice, parsley, almond butter, olive oil, water, cumin, black pepper and salt and blend until the Detox Green Hummus is smooth. Add water as needed.
