  • 1 cup cashews, soaked overnight
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tbsp pickle juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast
  • ¼ cup fresh dill
  • 1 tbsp dried minced onion
  • ½ tbsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Soak the cashews overnight so they are soft and blend easily. You can’t really skip this step, but if you do, try soaking them in boiling water for 2 hours.
  2. Place everything in a food processor and blend until smooth.
  3. Enjoy dipping veggies or your favourite seed cracker in this creamy vegan dill dip.

NOTE: if you don’t have pickles in the fridge (they are a staple in my house, I’m obsessed!) use lemon juice.

Health Benefits of Cashews

Cashews are one of the top ingredients being used right now in vegan dips and spreads. That’s because they’ve got a neutral flavour, blend into a super creamy consistency, and are packed with nutrients. It felt like a no-brainer to use them in this Creamy Vegan Dill Dip!

Cashews contain tons of healthy fat and protein making them a great addition to any meal or snack. Lots of other vegan dips use starches as the base and contain little nutritional value. But these dips won’t keep you feeling full for longer, meaning you might end up with cravings shortly after. My Creamy Vegan Dill Dip will leave you feeling full and satisfied!

Cashews are also a good source of bone-boosting vitamin K, nerve and muscle-supporting magnesium, DNA-protective selenium, and blood-supporting iron!

Health Benefits of Dill

Dill is a super versatile aromatic herb that contains a unique combination of sweet, citrus-like, and slightly bitter flavours. It pairs so well with seafood, cucumbers, eggs, fennel, potatoes, and tomatoes. Both the leaves and seeds can be used to flavour your cooking. I love using fresh dill in this Creamy Vegan Dill Dip because it gives a punch of both colour and flavour!

Rich in antioxidants, dill can help prevent damage caused by free radicals. Dill is also considered anti-inflammatory and has been shown to reduce blood sugar. The volatile oils in dill have antibacterial properties that prevent bacterial and yeast overgrowth including candida. Dill is also an excellent source of energy-producing iron and bone-building calcium and manganese!

Dip Recipe Roundup

Pretty in Pink Roasted Beet Hummus

This Pretty in Pink Roasted Beet Hummus is one of my all-time favourite dips and it’s not just because of its stunning appearance. I absolutely love the colour pink, if you haven’t noticed I have it incorporated all over my branding and website. But I don’t just love this recipe for the colour. The earthy sweet undertones of roasted beets elevate the traditional hummus base, making it a flavorful appetizer. Apart from its delicious taste, hummus is a quick and easy snack that can be paired with a variety of foods. Moreover, chickpeas and beets are excellent sources of fibre, which promote a healthy digestive system. Serve up something stunning with your next charcuterie board and try this Pretty in Pink Hummus!

Garlicky Green Guacamole by @jesselwellness #guacamole #healthysnack

Garlicky Green Guacamole

This Garlicky Green Guacamole is my version of classic guacamole. While there are many recipes out there that require a variety of ingredients, I wanted to keep it simple with just four so the avocado can still be the star of the show. Garlic gives this guacamole a spicy kick, while cilantro adds a delightful freshness, and lime brings balance with its acidity. I didn’t include salt in this recipe because I typically enjoy this dip with salty chips, but feel free to sprinkle some if you need a little more of a savoury kick!
