Boost Team Morale with Online Interactive Cooking Classes

Online interactive cooking classes are a fantastic way to boost team morale! By bringing coworkers together in a fun and engaging environment, these classes offer a break from the usual workday routine. I love online interactive cooking classes since it allows team members to bond over a shared experience that’s both creative and rewarding. Whether we’re whipping up a delicious meal or learning new culinary skills, these sessions provide an opportunity to connect, laugh, and collaborate.

By stepping outside of typical work tasks, employees can see their colleagues in a new light. This fosters stronger relationships and improves communication. Cooking together encourages teamwork and problem-solving, making it a great way to enhance team dynamics. Plus, everyone walks away new recipes and a renewed sense of camaraderie!

Plus, it’s a great opportunity to interact with me, your resident nutritionist and ask your burning questions about the food we eat and how it can make us feel!

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day, celebrated on October 10th, is a special day dedicated to raising awareness about mental health. It’s a time to come together, support one another, and remind ourselves that mental health is just as important as physical health!

Let’s spread positivity, kindness, and understanding as we work towards a world where everyone feels supported and empowered to talk about their mental health. During our Lunch & Learn on Emotional Eating, we also take the opportunity to discuss how emotional eating ties into mental health, making it a key topic of conversation on this important day.

Emotional Eating Lunch & Learn

Emotional eating often involves craving specific “comfort” foods, usually high in sugar, fat, or salt – we’ve all been there. Whether it’s ice cream when you’re feeling down or a bag of salted pretzels when you’re bored, leaning on food for comfort can temporarily make you feel better. But it doesn’t address the underlying emotions. Over time, this habit can lead to unhealthy eating patterns and can impact both physical and mental well-being.

During this Emotional Eating Lunch & Learn, I’ll chat through why we turn to food when we are upset. And how we can forgive ourselves after emotional eating, and how to break the habit of emotional eating. Here’s a sneak peek to some of my top 5 tips for emotional regulation and emotional eating:

  1. Journaling: Journaling allows you to process your thoughts as they happen so that you can think before you react. Whether done with a notebook and pen, in the notes app on your phone, or even by sending a voice note to yourself.
  2. Practice Mindfulness: take a few moments to quiet your mind and consider what it is you’re really craving.
  3. Self-Compassion: Treat yourself with kindness during emotional moments, acknowledging that it’s okay to feel how you feel.
  4. Identify Triggers: Recognize what situations or thoughts trigger certain emotions so that you can anticipate and manage your reactions.
  5. Deep Breathing: Use deep, slow breaths to calm your nervous system and reduce the intensity of strong emotions.
