Lunch and Learn & Cooking Classes for Detox
I’m super excited about my spring Lunch and Learn & Cooking Classes for Detox! In much the same way that you need a vacation from work, your body needs a break from time to time too. Especially when you’ve had more stress than usual, have been ill, tired or just not feeling your vibrant self. That’s why this month I’m diving into all things “detox”. My Lunch and Learn offering will be all about how detoxification can give your body a much-needed reset just in time for spring.

Detoxification is a normal process within the body as it neutralizes and eliminates toxins through the major organs (colon, skin, kidneys, lungs, lymph and liver). Our bodies are incredible and for the most part, do this naturally each day. But what if our self-cleaning system gets overrun by our unhealthy lifestyle and exposure to environmental toxins?
This happens more often than you think. Below are just some of the things we are exposed to on a daily basis:
- Air Outside Pollution: from cars and factories Air Inside Furniture, dust, mold, and cigarette smoke
- Beauty Products: Perfumes, preservatives, and dyes
- Medication: Preservatives and fillers
- Food: Preservatives, pesticides, food colouring, chemicals, MSG
The spring months are a great time to take on a gentle detox, the fact is even if your diet is good, a detox can help to restore your immune system and protect yourself against environmental toxins that can pave the way to illness.
Are you in need of a detox? Check which apply.
- Feeling bloated, constipated and congested.
- Feeling tired and low energy
- Digestion is sluggish
- Skin breakouts
- Feeling foggy or not yourself
- Getting sick often
- Not sleeping well
If you checked more than two boxes then why not join me for this month’s Lunch and Learn & Cooking Class offerings!
I teach you and your team to confidently put into practice some simple yet effective Detox tips. These tips just might be what your body and mind need to regain balance.
Here’s a sneak peek at some of what we cover:
- Liver Detox Process
- Which simple Ancient Ayurvedic practice can help you detox each morning
- What is eating mindfully and how can it help me detoxify?
- Which foods help our body detoxify naturally.
- And much more!
This Lunch and Learn is so great because the benefits of just putting into practice a couple of these tips can be extremely beneficial. Please me at info@jesselanewellness.com for more details or check out my Virtual Corporate Wellness page.

Cooking Class 1: Fish Tacos & Margarita
Tacos are perhaps one of the most crowd-pleasing dishes ever.
Satisfy your taco cravings in a fun hands-on class with Me(Jesse). Learn to make these tantalizing tacos with homemade crispy fish, sweet pineapple salsa, and creamy guacamole. And who could forget a refreshing margarita!
These recipes will be made with me step-by-step and all cooking class attendees will receive the recipes before the class. I have so much fun teaching these virtual online cooking classes it really is a great time had by all.
These Tacos include some amazing plant-based foods like avocados and pineapple. Here are a few reasons to include more plant foods into your diet:
- Improved skin care- nutritious plant foods are rich in minerals and vitamins like A,C and E. They also contain antioxidants, water which are all needed for radiant skin.
- Improved Heart Health- A diet high in fruits and vegetables greatly reduces your risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
- Lower Cholesterol – Fruits and vegetables contain fibre, which helps the body remove cholesterol and other waste products from the body.

Cooking Class 2: Pesto Salmon & Potato Salad
When Spring makes its debut I always use this time to shake things up in the kitchen. Out with the soups and stews and in with the fresh, vibrant and nutrient-dense dishes that taste delicious! During this virtual cooking class, you’ll learn how to elevate salmon by topping it with a bright-herb infused pesto. As a side dish, we’ll create a delicious side of warm asparagus salad with soft potatoes, crispy asparagus and lemony fresh vinaigrette. We will make these recipes together from start to finish during the class. All participants will receive the recipe in advance.
Nuts & Seeds: Contrary to popular belief, fat is essential to health. Nuts and seeds and their cold-pressed oils should be included in your diet on a daily basis as they contain high levels of essential fatty acids or ‘good’ fats. They are full of nutrients and contain forms of digestible proteins, antioxidants and an array of minerals and vitamins.
Seafood: When it comes to choosing Seafood look for small, wild or sustainably raised, low mercury, cold-water fish. Some of my favourites include clams, scallops, snapper, wild-caught cod, wild-caught salmon, anchovy filets in oil and sardines in oil.

Honey Garlic Salmon with Lemon Green Beans and Garlic Quinoa is a filling meal that hits all the right flavours being savoury and sweet at the same time.
Creamy Salmon Salad is a satisfying salad that makes an excellent lunch or dinner.
Kale Oregano Pesto Salmon is pretty similar to this recipe but I swapped oregano for basil in the pesto recipe. I also use sunflower seeds instead of pine nuts and nutritional yeast instead of Parmesan making it nut-free, dairy-free and paleo!
Salmon Cakes are a fun way to eat salmon! They can be enjoyed as the main course with a veggie side or in between two buns for lunch.
Maple Pecan Salmon is one of my original recipes that has stood the test of time. I make it again and again and love it every time.
