Peach Recipes You’ll Be Excited to Make All August

When fresh Ontario peaches arrive, I can’t wait to start cooking with them. They’re juicy, naturally sweet, and one of my favourite signs that late summer has arrived. I’m excited to share 3 of my favourite peach recipes on Breakfast Television on August 17, 2026.

While most people immediately think of peach pie or peach crisp, there are so many delicious ways to enjoy peaches. They’re just as good in savoury recipes as they are in desserts, and they even make an incredible breakfast.

On my latest Breakfast Television segment, I shared three of my favourite peach recipes that celebrate this beautiful seasonal fruit. Whether you’re looking for a healthy breakfast, a colourful salad, or a crowd-pleasing dessert, these recipes have you covered.

Why I Love Cooking with Peaches

Besides tasting amazing, peaches are packed with nutrition. They’re a good source of vitamin C to support your immune system and healthy skin. They contain fibre to help keep you feeling full and support healthy digestion.

One of my favourite things about peaches is how versatile they are. Their natural sweetness pairs beautifully with peppery greens, fresh herbs, crunchy nuts, creamy cheeses, warming spices, and even ginger. That’s why they’re just as delicious in savoury meals as they are in desserts.

Since peach season is only here for a short time, I always try to enjoy them as much as possible while they’re fresh. If you end up with more peaches than you can eat, simply slice and freeze them. They’re perfect for smoothies, oatmeal, baking, and sauces throughout the year.

Healthy Peach Recipes to Try This Month

Ginger Peach Overnight Oats

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m a huge fan of meal prep, and this breakfast is one of my favourites.

Ginger Peach Overnight Oats take just a few minutes to make the night before, and breakfast is ready and waiting for you when you wake up. The peaches add natural sweetness while the ginger gives them a fresh little kick that tastes like summer in a jar.

If your peaches are very ripe, I recommend adding them in the morning so they stay nice and fresh. Otherwise, go ahead and mix everything together the night before.

I usually make three or four jars at a time, so breakfast is taken care of for most of the week.

Peach Pea Salad

Peaches belong in salads.

Their sweetness pairs perfectly with crisp greens, fresh herbs, crunchy nuts, and a simple vinaigrette. It’s one of those salads that feels a little fancy but comes together so easily.

This is a wonderful lunch on its own or served alongside grilled chicken, salmon, or your favourite plant-based protein for dinner.

One quick tip: keep the dressing separate until you’re ready to serve so everything stays crisp and fresh.

Gingerbread Peach Upside Down Cake

This recipe is proof that peaches make an incredible dessert too.

The warm gingerbread spices complement the juicy peaches perfectly, creating a dessert that’s comforting without being overly sweet. It’s beautiful enough for entertaining but simple enough to make on a weekend just because peaches are in season.

If you’re baking with peaches, choose fruit that’s ripe but still slightly firm, so it holds its shape while baking.

The best part? This cake freezes beautifully, so you can enjoy a little taste of summer even after peach season is over.

My Favourite Tip for Using Seasonal Produce

One of the easiest ways to eat more seasonal fruits and vegetables is to include them in your meal plan before you even head to the grocery store.

When you already know which recipes you’re making, you’re much more likely to use those beautiful peaches instead of finding them forgotten in the fruit bowl a week later.

Meal planning doesn’t have to be complicated. Even spending ten minutes planning your meals for the week can save time, reduce food waste, and make healthy eating feel so much easier.
