Fun Virtual Team Bonding Activities
Looking to incorporate some fun virtual team bonding activities into your office this summer? Say no more! With summer now in full swing, I’m thrilled to introduce a fresh lineup of summer corporate wellness options. When we were kids, summer was an absolute highlight. The school was out, joy was abundant, and each day brought on a new adventure. We cherished every moment knowing that come September, our routines would resume once again.
However, as adults, summer may occasionally feel lacklustre. Our daily habits stay the same, and we may not prioritize enjoyment as much as we’d like. That’s why I’m so excited to help you and your team rediscover the joy of summer, even while you’re working!
How To Eat Seasonally Lunch & Learn
In our upcoming summer Lunch & Learn, How To Eat Seasonally, we’ll dive into all of the goodness of summer cuisine. Exploring the joys, significance, and excitement of choosing foods that are in season. In this interactive session, I’ll elaborate on all of the health benefits you’ll experience as a result of seasonal eating while equipping your team with the knowledge and skills to eat seasonally throughout the whole year. I’ll highlight the produce that’s currently in season and share some scrumptious recipes that utilize that fresh seasonal summer produce!
The benefits of eating seasonally
Choosing seasonal foods often means local foods, which have a shorter distance to travel to reach you. As a result, they retain more of their nutritional value since they’re grown and harvested at the optimal time. Out-of-season foods from further away may need to be picked prematurely, leading to a loss of essential nutrients and flavour.
Speaking of flavour! Flavour is a crucial factor when it comes to seasonal foods since they’re often richer in flavour, making them ideal ingredients. This is because they’re able to ripen for longer and spend less time in transit to reach you.
Seasonal eating is budget-friendly since it costs less. Reduced transportation and spoilage means that growers have a surplus of produce with a limited timeframe to sell. This provides you with a great product for less money.
If you’re concerned about your environmental impact, seasonal eating is an effective way to reduce it. By consuming foods that require less transport and preservation, your food reaches you with less of an impact. This results in a smaller carbon footprint.
Opting for seasonal and local produce means that you’re supporting independent farmers and growers in your community. This is critical since small-scale producers are increasingly losing business to large chains and supermarkets.
These are just a few of the amazing benefits of seasonal eating! I can’t wait to share more with you and your team in this refreshing Summer Lunch And Learn!

What people are saying about these fun virtual team bonding activities:
I asked Jesse Lane to present a virtual workshop for my staff and she did a phenomenal job. She was upbeat and pleasant and her information was very useful. She has a ton of recipes and tips for eating seasonally. I will definitely find more money in my budget to have her present to my staff in the future.

Cooking Class 1: Celebrate Strawberries
Summer just wouldn’t be complete without the delicious sweetness of strawberries! I can’t wait for them to come into season each year and love incorporating them into as many dishes as I can. In this Celebrate Strawberries Cooking Class, I’ll show your team how to use these delicious berries in both sweet and savoury ways.
Together, we’ll prepare my Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp, a scrumptious dessert that’s sure to please any crowd and a great way to use up an abundance of berries (hello farmer’s markets). We’ll also whip up a savoury Strawberry Arugula Salad with Strawberry Balsamic Vinaigrette. This double dose of strawberries makes for a refreshing and nutritious lunch or side dish, packed with vitamins, minerals, and water. Plus, it’s a fantastic recipe to have on hand for summer gatherings as it caters to vegans and those on a gluten-free diet too!
Why am I obsessed with strawberries?
One of the many benefits of strawberries is their abundance of antioxidants. These powerful nutrients help protect the body’s cells from oxidative damage. Additionally, the antioxidants in strawberries have anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce pain and inflammation in those with conditions like arthritis, cancer, and asthma by inhibiting the activity of the COX enzyme.
Strawberries are also an excellent source of vitamin C, which plays a crucial role in promoting joint health and collagen production. With all these benefits, it’s no wonder that strawberries are considered a superfood!
Cooking Class 2: Sweet and Savory Zucchini
It’s that time of year again when zucchinis are abundant, and I’m excited to help your team maximize their potential this summer! In this Sweet and Savory Zucchini Cooking Class, we’ll be whipping up two delicious recipes: Chocolate Zucchini Muffins and Sunflower Zucchini Pesto Pasta.
First up are my delectable Chocolate Zucchini Muffins that are not only kid-friendly but also packed with antioxidants from cocoa, walnuts, and of course, zucchini. They’re a perfect treat for breakfast or dessert, and I can’t wait to walk you through the simple steps to make them.
Next, we’ll be making Sunflower Zucchini Pesto Pasta featuring a rich and nutty sunflower sauce that complements the light and refreshing zucchini noodles. This dish is a nutritious powerhouse, incorporating the best of summer herbs and garden veggies, and it only takes 30 minutes to prepare! You won’t want to miss making this refreshing summer meal that will surely be a hit at any dinner table.
Why zucchinis are the ultimate summer vegetable!
Zucchini is a highly nutritious food that often goes overlooked. These versatile vegetables are packed with antioxidants, which can help protect the body from harmful free radicals that come from natural processes or external sources like pollution or chemicals.
Additionally, zucchinis are a great source of water and fibre, which can promote a healthy gut. They are low in carbs, which makes them an ideal choice for regulating blood sugar levels. Zucchinis are also rich in minerals such as copper and manganese, which are important for building strong bones and connective tissues. They provide surprising amounts of B vitamins that can boost your energy levels and contain vitamin C that supports skin, connective tissues, and the immune system. With all these benefits, these low-calorie, highly nutritious, and hydrating vegetables are a perfect addition to your summer meals!
