SoLo GI Energy Bars Review and Giveaway
I am always looking for new energy bars to add variety to my on-the-go snack roster. I was very excited when SoLo GI approached me to review their SoLo GI Energy Bars and give some away to a lucky Jesse Lane Wellness reader. SoLo GI Energy Bars were developed in 2005 to provide a healthy snack alternative that takes into consideration the blood sugar impact as well as nutritional content. They stand out from the rest because of their Low Glycemic Index Ranking of 23-30. High glycemic foods quicklybreak downn and raise your blood sugar. Low glycemic foods provide a slower release of sugar into the blood preventing the dreaded sugar crash and providing longer lasting energy.
What is in SoLo GI Energy Bars?
SoLo GI Energy Bars are gluten-free and made with natural ingredients. They do not contain sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners and are sweetened with fruit purees, brown rice syrup, honey and fructose. Now, I do have some issues with fructose, however, the amount in these bars is minimal. SoLo GI Energy Bars contains only non-hydrogenated oils and no trans fats. They are packed 10 to 13 grams of protein which is derived from whey and non-GMO soy giving you a complete protein source, but making them a poor choice for someone with a dairy or soy allergy.
SoLo GI Energy Bars Review
I tried the five different SoLo GI Energy Bar flavours and they all tasted super sweet, just like dessert! Peanut Power tasted like a peanut butter cup, Chocolate Charger tasted like a chocolate brownie, Lemon Lift tasted like a yellow Skittle, Dark Chocolate Mandarin tasted like a chocolate orange and Pineapple Coconut had chunks of coconut and pineapple like a pina colada. The great thing about SoLo GI Energy Bars is they gave me tons of energy and kept me full for at least 2 hours.

I like a weekly email. btw, I have tried the Solo bars and the dark chocolate mandarin is FREAKING amazing!! I have to control myself to just have one .. or I could really go nuts on these things. π
